The
Rio Grande Youth Art Show (RGYAS) is an annual event in its third year and
showcases the art of the youth in the preK-12 grade levels in the Sandoval County,
NM. The first art show took place in November 2012 and was held at the
Bernalillo Community Center in Bernalillo, NM.
This project is a highly collaborative project
between local non-profits, the Sandoval County Juvenile Justice, local artists,
residents and art teachers in the public school system of Sandoval County. It
is an all-volunteer, community effort. This year, the show will be exhibited in
the Sandoval County Building, from November 8th-21st,
2014 (M-F: 8 am-5 pm).
The public is invited to
attend the opening
reception being held on Saturday, November 8th, from 12:00-3:00 pm at the Sandoval County Administrative
Building, 1500 Idalia Rd., Bldg. D, Rio Rancho, NM. Admission
is free. There
will also be student performances taking place during the opening reception and
the program schedule will be posted on the RGYAS website.
The exhibit will end on November 21st at 5 pm.
